Child Development

Young Families provides a safe, nurturing, and developmentally enriching environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth of infants and toddlers.  Our program is staffed with highly trained and experienced individuals who respect and encourage the unique growth and development of each child.

Our program objectives are:

  • To provide children opportunities to develop in all domains at their own pace, supported by high quality center based services at no cost to parents
  • To provide children with opportunities to interact with and explore objects and people in their environments
  • To complete and maintain a comprehensive development profile on each child
  • To assist families in accessing comprehensive dental, medical, and mental health care
  • Work collaboratively with local agencies to develop and implement objectives and outcomes that are included in Individual Family Services plans
  • To develop, implement, and collaborate with families in our program, a partnership agreement  that focuses child outcomes on nutrition and development in all domains(physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and communication)
  • To develop and promote each child’s emerging literacy
  • To provide screening in development, dental, hearing, and vision for all children at no cost to families
  • To involve parents in all aspects of their child’s education and care
